Microsoft Corp. unveiled versions of "Windows" system available to the owners of the official versions for free upgrade to the new version of the operating system, "Windows 10", during a special event held Wednesday for the detection of a new system.
Microsoft confirmed officially during the event that "Windows 10" is the only name for the new operating system on all platforms, which will serve as a unified system to run desktop and laptop computers next to tablet computers, smart phones, gaming device and the Xbox.
Said Terry Myerson, Microsoft's Vice President for operating systems, that throughout the first year after the launch "Windows 10" system will be available for users of devices operating system "Windows 8.1" free upgrade to the newer system.
Miruson added that the update to the "Windows 10" system will also free during the first year of the IPO to the owners of the smartphone operating system "Windows Phone 8.1", in addition to the operating system "Windows 7" devices owners.
Vice president of Microsoft explained that as soon as the user update to the "Windows 10" will have the full range of life support apparatus, where he confirmed that his company will provide long-term support for the way that will turn "Windows" system at the launch of the new system.
He stressed Myerson that Microsoft is not considered "Windows 10" system is just a new version of the operating system "Windows", but sees "change the game", where he will become "Windows" than just a system for running a global service that serves regular users and developers.
Myerson said that developers will be able following the launch of "Windows 10" able to develop applications running on all Windows machines, without the need to develop a custom application for each platform separately.
